A batter is an offensive player who stands in the batter’s box and tries to hit the ball that is thrown towards him by the pitcher to make a run. The batter is also called a runner. A runner is a person who is touching or returning to any base. One baseball game consists of 9 innings and it goes on till visiting team has scored more than the home team and also the innings is incomplete if home team scores the winning run.
6 players play on the field while 3 are put out legally. The exception to scoring a run are- A run is not counted if the runner advances to home base during a play in which the 3rd out is made. If a runner is declared out because he failed to touch one of the bases. While the run is scored when the runner legally advances to and touches 1st, 2nd, 3rd and home base before 3 men are put out to end the inning.
